Snakeface sat near the edge of his territory, munching quietly on a mouse. He glanced towards the borders, not getting any ideas at all at the sight of the seemingly-open (inviting, even) border. The other Clans were not to be trusted, and there was certainly a trap laying in wait somewhere. He'd just eat for now.
Cloudedmist: Lied down on the cooling rocks, her ears flickering lightly. She glanced over at another tom, and she flicked her tail in greeting.
Snakeface. Wait a moment, what was that? New person scent? The tom raised his head, a puzzled expression on his face. It faded quickly as he noticed the stranger. Odd. She seemed perfectly calm and friendly for one trespassing. "Hello," he replied after swallowing the last of his mouse. "Would you, by chance, happen to know where we are? I'm afraid I've gotten terribly lost."
Cloudedmist: Looked over. "I really don't know, either. My parents abandoned me in a forest, and really now I'm just wandering, and I'm lost as well..." She confessed, and replied, Heaving herself up.
Snakeface considered the she-cat's statement. She seemed honest enough, but he simply didn't know enough to be sure. He'd play along for now. "Thanks anyways," manners. He paused. "I thought I heard somebody passing by say that a Clan lived here. Sh-something. Hmm." He leaned back, looking thoughful.

Cloudedmist: stared off into the distance, but she had heard a kittypet with his owner say there was a Clan that lived here on her way up. She had rolled her eyes. Kittypets thought loners like her were Clan cats. "Really? Well was it a kittypet being carried along in a carrier by a twoleg? I got told the same tall tail." The cow-print she-cat said, thinking of the stupid tuxedo tom with a neck-ring.
Snakeface had to admit he was amused. Where had that come from? Perhaps the she-cat was pulling his leg. That was a less amusing idea. Hmn. "No, no, I'd remember a two-leg. It was here in the forest, further South." He motioned, nodding in the aforementioned direction. "Clan cats.. I wonder what I'd do if I met one..."
Cloudedmist: glared at him. "Then we were told by two different cats. It was an idiotic tuxedo tom. The she cat flicked her tail. "I don't know... dependant if it was a kitten or a fully grown one..." She meowed.
Snakeface nodded. It was a reasonable answer. "I'm sorry, I've completely forgotten manners. I'm Snake, and you?" The tom smiled, bright blue eyes yearning for friendship.
Cloudedmist: wrapped her tail around her feet tightly. "Clouded." She replied.
Snakeface smile endured. "Pleasure to meet you, Clouded." He paused before going on. "Oh! I remember, now. Those cats called it ShaleClan. Weird, huh?" He glanced at the sky. It looked like rain was coming. "Ring any bells? I'd like to know what I'm up against if I accidentally crossed a border."
Cloudedmist: shook her head. "Been a loner in the woods since I was 6 Moons old. Taught myself to hunt-pretty well, too." She followed Snake's gaze to the sky. "Ah, it does look like rain. Maybe we should get going, and be careful of Clan cats." She meowed, heaving herself up to all four paws.
Snakeface's face brightened. "I know a place! If there are Clan cats, I don't think they know about it yet. I can show you if you'd like?" He got to his paws as well, keen to hear her response.
Cloudedmist: nodded, and swished her tail. The clouds started to get darker and the air began to smell damp.
Snakeface nodded as well before turning and trotting off through the rocks.
Cloudedmist: Looked around as thunder boomed and lightning flashed outside. "Got here just in time, didn't we?" She said, inching away from the entrance to void getting wet.
Snakeface frowned at the weather outside. "Mm. Yes, I think we did." His voice was smooth and low and just a little bit dangerous. He strolled easily over to the entrence to peer outside at the pouring rain. Now he was between the loner and her exit. "Welcome to ShaleClan camp, Clouded. Make yourself at home for now, and we can have a nice, civil chat later tonight."
Cloudedmist: 's pupils turned to slits. She said nothing, but still had a shocked expression on the inside. She just kept a straight expression.
Finchfur blinked, lifting his head from his paws. Was someone talking? Lifting himself into a sitting position, the tom smiled. "Welcome back, Snakestar," he said, dipping his head before looking curiously at the newcomer. "I see you got us a new recruit? Excellent," he added, standing up and padding over to look at her. The weather outside didn't really bother him all that much -- It was just a bit of water, and he'd spent enough time outside to not really care.
Snakeface smiled back at his guest before his attention was called away by his Deputy. "Thank you, and yes. We'll have to orient her, though." The tom looked lazily over his shoulder, staring at the she-cat with brilliant blue eyes. "There's a war raging in these lands. It's not safe for loners. There's no room for neutrality." He turned and strode towards the girl, expression stern. "I've brought you here to offer you a place in ShaleClan. You will hunt and fight for us, and in return, we will hunt and fight for you."
Cloudedmist: thought for a moment. The Clan leader was right; there wasn't room for neutrals like herself. She pondered it for a few moments, and made her decision. "I'll do it." She replied, heaving herself to all fours. Better to give up her slow loner life than be ripped to shreds by a war she hadn't anything to do with intentionally.
Snakeface nodded, a smile returning to his face. He stood in front of her, turning easily into the cordial leader that he was so capable of being. "Then I say these words before StarClan, that the spirits of our warrior ancestors may hear and approve of my choice. Your name will henceforth be Cloudedmist of ShaleClan. Welcome." This was a good day, despite the weather. "Feel free to eat and rest and explore. I will give you a tour of the territory once the skies clear. My deputy," he motioned towards Finchfur with a flick of his tail. "Finchfur can answer any questions."
Cloudedmist: nodded and dipped her head respectfully. The black and white she-cat shook her head. "I don't have any questons." She murmured.
Finchfur's ear flicked in surprise, though he nodded anyway. "No questions? Then I assume you know which den you'll be sleeping in, and when the elders shall be fed, and when the next Gathering is..." he said good-naturedly, before turning towards the warrior's den. "Come. Unless Snakestar has other plans, you'll be sleeping here. You might get assigned duty on a dawn patrol, but don't worry, we won't spring it on you."
Cloudedmist: nodded and turned towards where Flinchfur had.
Snakeface remained still, a small, amused smile on his lips. He turned to casually observe the scene before walking over to the entrance. The weather really was miserable. Still. Things to be done, schemes to plot et all. Sigh. A leader's work was never done. Unhappily, the tom trotted outside, into the rain, and out of camp.
